Collars, Floral and T-straps

A few of my favorite things. (read the title) And I love wearing them all at once! Oh and belts...and lace. This outfit felt simple, it's only a few pieces but it's enough to make me feel girly and put a skip in my step.

This is one of my very favorite ModCloth dresses. It's perfect for the hot summer days we've been having lately. It's light cotton, soft colors and easy to just throw on and style without having to add much.

I don't know if you've noticed but I wear this belt...A LOT. It's seriously become a staple of mine. I'm surprised how versatile it is because it's yellow. Yellow. Of all colors. I don't usually wear a lot of yellow because it makes my pale skin look sickly. Even my own mother confirmed this. Maybe that's why I love the belt so much because it adds that pop of yellow I can never have...

And of course, my t-strap flats. LOVE them. When I bought them I couldn't decide between a taupe color or these and I'm SO glad I decided on red. I love colorful shoes and I probably would have been bored with the others. Although, I do kind of want a black pair. I just love the way they look.

Birds and Vintage

Is it really only Tuesday?! I feel like the week is already dragging by... Maybe it's because I'm excited for the weekend (we have fun plans on Friday). We're almost halfway through! The fact I have to work tomorrow doesn't help though. It's usually my day off.

I wore this outfit a few weeks back. I can't tell you how much I LOVE this dress. I saw it online and knew it was a little big for me but I had to have it! Lucky me it's the kind of frock that looks good a little loose. Especially since it ties in the center. I love the chevron pattern and buttons at the top of the dress.

The scarf is one of my favorites. It has gorgeous colored birds all over it and it matched perfectly with these heels that I rarely get to wear so I put them on to add a little color with my new dress.

So, my bangs were SUPER long when we took these pics. I could barely see out of them. I believe I had my sister cut them that night. So excuse my squinty eyes, or lack of eyes at all...

I think that's all I have to say. I'm listening to Death Cab for Cutie while typing this and its really distracting me. I keep singing to it. Thanks for reading as always!

Cascade Springs

Yay! I'm finally getting these pics up! We took a trip to Cascade Springs a few weeks ago and I had so many photos to go through I've just been putting it off. But here they are! That's my cute little sister in the first photo and that's her camera I have. She loves photography and took up a collection of vintage cameras.

"Cascade Springs is a refreshing oasis of lush vegetation, inviting pools, and cascading waterfalls located within the Uinta National Forest." (source) We discovered it last summer and fell in love. We've been back quite a few times since and even saw a moose one lucky day!

It's so beautiful! I wish I could capture it on camera better. The lush green forestry and moss, the crystal clear water, the bridges every half mile or so, and the little waterfalls! So gorgeous.

It was a warm but comfortable day when we went, just looking at what I'm wearing makes me hot now in this 90 degree weather we've been having!

I'm loving the mint jeans trend right now. They're surprisingly versatile and so much fun! And it doesn't hurt that it's always been one of my favorite colors. Well, that and every other shade of green...

P.S. these mint jeans were only $17!! I'll let you in on an ingenious secret; I bought cheap white skinny jeans at Ross, then DYED them mint with Rit clothing dye. Here's the tutorial. I found it on pinterest and followed to Pretty Providence. Those girls are genius!!

Gimme Some Sugar

Hello again!! I'm glad to be back to blogging after a long, fun-filled weekend with family. We had a few get-togethers, a barbecue and an adventurous time trying to play croquet... Oh, and I made the most delicious salad! Definitely going to become a staple for  me.

Ok, so I'm super excited to post this dress! Sugarlips, being the absolutely AWESOME company they are sent this to me and I immediately fell in love. The beautiful floral pattern, the fitted waist, the peter pan collar and of course the flowy skirt! Ever since I was a little girl I loved a "twirly skirt". Everything is so perfect about it. And I love how the bright colors contrast with the soft feminine feel of the dress. If you haven't heard of Sugarlips, check them out! They have some pretty great stuff!

Speaking of staples, (well, I was earlier...) this bag has become my go-to lately. I found it for $10 on sale at Tai Pan! Crazy! I couldn't pass that up and I love the simple leather structure and convenient size. It fits everything I need without things getting lost in there.

Oh, I also tried out my fur-trimmed sweater with my new dress. (I couldn't decide how to style it! So many ideas) That's why the pics below are a bit different.
